How I Got Started
I started riding bikes as most kids do at quite a young age, but quickly grew fond of these new inline skate things. That fad wore off and i went back to my roots as a rider. After a few years it became more than just something to do on a weekend, it became a way of life. Just as a large local community of riders were getting to know each other at our local DH track it was destroyed and taken away from us. Because of this i formed a club and affiliated with British Cycling. Ever since i have been working with local councils, schools, and BC to deliver coaching all around SE Kent, and try to get more venues to ride at. This is all done on a voluntary basis, with only 3 members of staf.
My Rides
I currently have a Last Raffnix hardtail, and i think it will be the Last ht i will ever need. It is solid, made from 4130, has a super short rear end and has spot on geometry. Gives a ride unlike any i have felt before. Stable in the air, but nice and tight for berms and skateparks. It has 26" wheels, no 24 nonsense for me thank you!
My other bike is a santa cruz bullit on which i have spent last summer riding Canada! She's a bit battered and will shortly be replaced by the new Last freeride frame. Check www.dusttilldawn.co.uk for more details.

Biggest Accomplishments
Having nearly 50 members, and being able to teach young kids. The look on their face when they have accomplished something they never believed was possible is priceless. All this whilst being in full-time employment!
Goals For The Future
To expand the club tenfold so we can have more BMX and MTB facilities in Kent that are accessbile to normal people. Not everyone has lots of money, but giving them the chance to do something fun and healthy would be awesome. Need more funding and more staff, but this will all come with time.
On a personal note i would just love to have fewer injuries and more time/money to ride and coach!

News
on the road!
I'm finally out of a knee brace and have started walking again after breaking my just before new years. It should only be a few weeks now till i'm back on my bike and boy am i gagging for it!
In the meantime i have been preparing the new programme for the On Yer Bike course we run in Dover. This course give local young people a chance to learn how to fix and maintain their bikes, as well as learn all sorts of new and exciting things about cycling. It is also aimed as a social education course to try and drive the young people away from drugs and alcohol, and encourage them to take up a fun and healthy sport.
Coaching is also still underway the the Harbour School in Dover. Many of the children there have some form of learning disability, so being able to give them half hour of fun on bikes is amazing. They really benifit out if too by improving hand eye coordination and spacial awareness.
Talks are underway to get dubriders on board with the new national standard cycling facilities being constructed at the Fowlmead Country Park in Bettteshanger. There is already a national standard road riding circuit installed and with our help a BMX track and skatepark are to be installed. This is awesome news for cycling in our area.
Well that's it for now, i'm off to rest my knee and coax it into working again!
