The Northern Fight League was started in summer 2008 by four MMA enthusiasts Craig Jose a Champion Muay Thai Boxer, Peter Falkous a Leading Journalist, Robert Mills a Champion MMA fighter and Mark Jose a Serial Entrepreneur and Martial Arts Enthusiast.

Currently MMA is going through a boost in popularity unrivalled by any sport in recent years. The boost in media attention has been nothing short of phenomenal but few British fighters have gained main stream attention.

The Northern Fight League’s goal is to popularise the fighter as much as promote the sport to a mainstream level. The main problem with current promotions is two fold, a concentration at personal gain by the promoter at all costs and the lack of exposure for the fighters and the event.

The Northern Fight League knows that all businesses strive to make a profit but pledges to concentrate on the development and promotion of the sport and its fighters to ultimately achieve business success.

The somewhat unique NFL4 rule set means the fans are treated to the most exciting action possible whilst ensuring the fighter safety remains paramount. Larger gloves encourage more punching and ground and pound whilst retaining the slick submissions that make the sport so unique.

The level of skill of fighters in the North of England is arguably higher than any other region and we wish to give the fighters a popular well run and slick show in order for them to showcase their skills and talent which makes them such great competitors.

The goal of the Northern Fight League is to help in the creation of future professional champions and make the sport accessible and attractive to a whole new audience, moulding the champions of the future.
