STAATS - The Frame Experts
Steve Staats started designing frames in 1995 with the mere intention of building a stronger, lighter frame for his own two sons, Ryan and Alex Staats. These frames were constructed to be maneuverable, lightweight and built to last. The endurance of these frames has been amazing. The very first Staats frame ever built was a mini cruiser and it was still winning Nationals after six years of racing! The frames became an instant success and soon Steve was approached by the Answer Racing Team to start building frames for riders such as Bubba Harris and Mike Day. Soon everyone on the Answer team was on a Staats frame and the rest, as they say, is history. STAATS BICYCLES was born!
Our frames currently use several exotic steel alloys such as Aermet OX Platinum heate treated 4130 chromoly, 7005 Alumiunum and other double and triple butted tubing. Each chromoly frame is hand built, belt-mitered and tig-welded. We take great pride in the quality, strength and ride characteristics of our lightweight frames. With over thirteen years building frames with various materials including and over forty different models of frames, we are THE FRAME EXPERTS. Staats has the perfect frame for you and no other BMX frame manufacture has as many models and sizes.
Staats factory riders provide us with valuable R&D testing, helping Staats fine tune our product to be the best equipment in the world. Staats has become a familiar name through our many accomplishments in BMX racing and be assured we will continue to be one of the most visible brands in BMX. Mike Day, 2005 NBL #1 AA Pro and UCI #2 World Champion
Robert deWilde, 2005 UCI Supercross Champion and UCI #3 World Champion
Answer/Staats Factory team, 2004 ABA National #1 team and 2005 ABA World Champion team
Four NORBA MTX/DS National Championship Titles
As STAATS BICYCLES continues to grow, we remain committed to the development of the strongest, lightest and best frame possible.
